If not, you will have to spend a little more money to get your IT department up to par.
You don’t have to limit the performance level of your virtual desktop either. As long as you have powerful servers, you could create a supercomputer version of a virtual desktop – many people like Dell for servers. The only way your virtual desktop will be compromised is if someone attacks your server. Make sure your server is as secure as possible. An intense firewall will go a long way towards protecting your virtual desktops. If your first firewall is compromised, you should have another one in place that will deal with any additional attacks. The goal is to have as many roadblocks in place to avoid losing the important data stored on the main computers. Once your server is secure, you should have no problems in keeping your virtual desktops online.
Your business needs to consider virtual desktops right away. They are the best way to protect your main computers from being compromised due to viruses. Everything will run a lot smoother once you have virtual desktops implemented as part your daily processes. It should not be too hard to get them up and running. Plus, the money you save alone will make the whole ordeal worth it.
