The Nokia E7
I’ve been very fortunate to review the Nokia E7 recently for All About Symbian (see my parts of the AAS mega review here and here). My job was to review specific aspects of the software suite, not the hardware. However, before I sent it back to Steve Litchfield, I decided to grab some photos of the device. There are photos of the device by itself, and with other devices I have here at Gilson Towers.
So, if you’re curious about this next-generation Nokia Communicator, then read on to look through my photo gallery below. I’ll be posting these to Flickr in time, but the first exclusive look is here on my blog
- The E7 box
- The Nokia E7, the N97 hinge comes to the Eseries
- E7 opened, viewed from front
- E7, opened and sleek
- The E7, opened and viewed from the side
- E7, viewed from the back. Note the “Designed in Finland” text on the finger guard hinge
- The massive four inch Clear Black Display capacitive touch screen of the E7
- The rear of the E7. Smooth and clean, only featuring the 8MP EDoF camera
- The E7 closed, this is a thick and heavy phone, for good reason!
- Holding the E7 in the hand gives you a sense of how large this phone is.
- Another view of the E7′s rear face
- The bottom face of the E7. Completely clean, just a microphone hole
- The E7′s top face. Featuring 3.5mm headphone jack, power button, covered HDMI port and the Micro USB port
- The top of the E7, with the HDMI port opened
- The left face of the E7, featuring only the screen lock slider
- The right face of the E7. Featuring camera button, an uncomfortable volume slider, and the SIM card slot cover
- The E7′s menu key, the only physical key
- Using USB on the Go with the E7
- Nokia’s generations of QWERTY keyboards. The N900, E7, E55 and E72
- Nokia’s Eseries family. The E51, E55, E72, and the E7-00
- The N900 vs the E7, two super wide QWERTY keyboards
- The E7 physical QWERTY keyboard vs the C7 virtual keyboard
- The C7′s 3.5″ screen vs the E7′s 4.0″ screen
- Thick and Thin. Left to right: C7, E7, and N900

I am stalking you for an answer posted in Comments to the 4th part of the AAS review:
You wrote:”Supported event types are Meetings, Anniversaries and To-Do list items” I asked: What has happened to Memo? a useful feature from S60 (and before).
I would be surprised and disappointed if the diary options are even more restricted than S60 v 3 or 5.
The E7 manual pdf doesn’t inform me. Another website review says the same as yours but this may be plagarism!

Hi there,
I’m really sorry I missed your question on AAS.
As said in this post, I’ve sent the E7 back to Steve Litchfield. However, I’ve just checked my C7 review unit against a Nokia 5530. I can confirm the Memo option is gone. Sorry!
The best substitute I can suggest is an all day event with a note attached.

Yes you are right – I now have the E7 – and what used to be Memo in S60 is now an All Day Event in S^3.
You dont need to apologise for missing my original post on AAS, it was buried amongst all the trolling and feuding – which the site seems to attract. Regards

well, i do think you will find that as Nokia phones become more user-friendly with the help of google, all these features will be included in the future-phones to come.
